Direct Thermal Labels
Direct Thermal Labels are commonly used as shipping labels, box end labels and picking/packing labels – basically what a courier would use.
With no need for a thermal transfer ribbon due to the Direct Thermal material having a special heat-activated layer where black print is made by the print head directly applying heat to the label, these have an overall lower cost per label,
Thermal Transfer Labels
Thermal Transfer covers a wide variety of materials everything from paper to synthetic alongside longer life, greater quality and durability than direct thermal labels.
Generally used for product identification, laboratory specimens, outdoor and even cold storage, printing on these labels uses less heat than Direct Thermal which enables a vast array of printing materials to be used.
Mobile Printer Labels (QL)
Mobile labels, often referred to as QL Labels, are self-adhesive labels that are compatible with mobile label printers, and as such require smaller core rolls so that a shop-floor assistant or warehouse worker can wear the roll around their neck whilst printing fully mobile.
QL labels are often used in supermarket for food and beverage labels, to mark a reduction in price as an expiration date approaches.
