HSE Surprise Inspection Leads To First Choice Label’s Clean Bill Of Health

A surprise inspection by an officer from the Health and Safety executive (HSE) has resulted in First Choice Labels receiving an “Outstanding” mark for Covid-19 prevention, preparation and staff welfare.

On Tuesday 3rd November a knock on the door was followed by an instruction from the visitor to open the doors and make ourselves ready for a Covid-19 facilities inspection. This was carried out by an officer from the HSE who walking around our entire premises checking hand sanitation stations, communal areas, staff distancing and relevant Covid-19 signage. 

The purpose of the inspections is to encourage companies to respect staff by making sure they have considered their safety and communicated a clear message regarding the pandemic. Fines of up to £1,000 can be levied against companies that do not demonstrate Covid-19 consideration and preparations.

 At the end of the 30 minutes inspection FCL were informed that the facilities were outstanding and “Not a single fault can be found or recommendation made”. Commenting soon after Manging Director, Nigel Willis said “it is hugely rewarding to myself, the management team and all staff members that we received such high praise from an un-announced, official inspection.” 

FCL received such high praise, partly due to the highly visible Floor stickers manufactured by the company.
