Nige and Emma of  First Choice Labels paid a visit to Larchfield Community near Hemlington following Middlesbrough and Teesside Philanthropic Foundation‘s £1,000 donation via our Golden Giveaway.

Larchfield Community provide support for almost 100 people from the Teesside area who have a learning disability or mental health challenge.

They run numerous activities which have a therapeutic value on and around their 160-acre site, ranging from farm work to serving in the on-site cafe and craft groups.

And, as our pictures show, our donation has already been put to good use with the purchase of an embroidery sewing machine that enables the personalisation of items made in the Larchfield Crafts workshop including peg bags, cushions and items for pets.

Visitors can also embroider different images, which can then be hand-painted with fabric paints – a process that takes real skill and care to produce perfect pieces.
